Mantis Magazine is a Washington, DC-based music magazine devoted to promoting local artists, photographers, and writers in various markets. Our mission is to form a network of musicians and artists, managers, promoters and studios. We wish to increase awareness of local music and talent.

We welcome unsolicited material.

Music genres that have the best chances for review are alt/indie rock, hip-hop, hard rock/metal, jazz, and country. We presently have no reviewers for R&B, opera, new age or classical.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How can I submit material to be reviewed?

   We prefer to receive LINKS. Please do NOT attach music files or photographs (unless one of us specifically asked you to). Any emails containing attachments will be deleted.

2. Will you review and post anything that's sent to you?

• Of course not. We listen to all unsolicited material, but cannot guarantee exposure on the website.

  If that's not good enough for you, you can guarantee a review and a posting through the Desire Media package.

3. I want to write / shoot for you.

• Please send an email indicating that you're interested, and tell us a little about yourself. We will notify you if there is a need, and we may ask you for a resume and writing/photography samples. If you're good at what you do, and you love music, then we'll probably love to have your help.
